Here's just a sampling of our yearly activities.
Scouts collect food door to door
scouting for food
Each November our Scouts hand out paper bags in our community then collect donated food for Salvation Army food banks. Working together with other local units, we typically collect a few tons each year.
On board the USS Hornet an aviation and navy museum. This is the primary recovery ship for the first manned moon landing, Apollo 11.
overnighter opportunity’s
We rotate site’s each year for an educational overnight adventure at such opportunities at the aircraft carrier USS Hornet in Alameda, the Monterey Bay Aquarium, Oakland Zoo, Exploratorium, etc.
Scouts decorate their bicycles and await the signal to begin the parade.
fourth of july parade
Each year we participate in Modesto 4th of July celebration and parade.
Bike hikes
Bike safety is taught while enjoying adult lead bike hikes.
Summer Camp
4th and 5th graders can attend an overnight camp experience to help prepare them for Scouts BSA
family camp
The entire family joins the Scouts for a 3 day camp on Scout Island with games, prizes and family fun
memorial day ceremonies
Our Scouts perform community service projects for Memorial Day by placing crosses on veterans graves and participate in services honoring our veterans.
